Buzan Online is thrilled to reveal that iMindMap Version 4 has been named among the best three Mind Mapping applications for making presentations by Chuck Frey of the Mind Mapping Software Blog.

In his article entitled ‘The 3 Best Mind Mapping Programs for Making Presentations’, Chuck praises the powerful new Presentation Mode available in iMindMap v4.0:

“This program, developed by Buzan Online, has some neat capabilities, including a two-screen setup – so you see a special presenter view with a menu bar at the bottom of the screen that controls your presentation and notes for your reference, but your audience only sees your map. Also, the presenter view displays a timer, which shows you how much time you have spent on the current slide and the presentation in total. If your map contains links to child maps, those are displayed in your presenter menu, so you can jump back and forth easily between the parent and child maps. Finally, iMindMap’s presentation mode extends the program’s organic mapping focus: Clicking on the forward button of the presentation toolbar causes your map branches to smoothly and organically “grow” into place. It looks very elegant, among the best mind mapping software presentation modes I’ve seen.”

iMindMap Presentation Mode

As one of several exciting new features available in iMindMap v4.0, the Presentation Mode adds a whole new dimension to the way you present to an audience. It takes just minutes to create a professional Mind Map based presentation which can then be brought to life as an animated Mind Map right in front of your audience’s eyes. Users can take advantage of some excellent presenting options:

  • Animation options – You can choose to animate your Mind Map by expanding it branch by branch or by main branches. The speed at which branches are revealed can be set using the slider provided so you can adapt your presentation speed to any type of audience.

  • Navigation – Display your Mind Map branches in sequential order using the on-screen arrows or by clicking on your mouse or space bar. Your presentation will flow beautifully as each branch glides into place. Move backwards using the on-screen arrows or by pressing P or page up. Zoom in and out on branches using the magnify icons and pan around the Mind Map smoothly by simply clicking and dragging on the map.

  • Display options – Present your Mind Map in either one or two screens mode. You can also pause your presentation at any point using the W key for whiteout or B key for blackout.

  • Links and Child Maps – While presenting you can link direct to any files (spreadsheets, documents, images etc), websites or Child Maps by simply clicking on the links. When linking to a Child Map a second presentation will start, allowing you to present with multiple levels of Mind Maps. This is ideal if you want to keep topics or ideas separate or if your presentation is particularly long.
