Over the past four years, the ancient city of Petra has been more than just an archaeological marvel of the Jordanian desert, it has become a symposium for modern revolutionaries. Amongst its archaic stone carvings that have witnessed over 2000 years of civilisation, a group of 30 Nobel Prize winners as well as other leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, academics, and humanitarians gathered at the Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates to look to the future.

Held this year between the 17th and 19th of June, the Conference was hosted by King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Over the three days, participants of the Conference focused on this year’s theme: Reaching for New Economic, Scientific and Educational Horizons. Amongst the participants were Tony Buzan and managing director of Buzan Online, Chris Griffiths.

Plenary and brainstorming sessions were held to discuss issues such as the state of the economy, human rights concerns, the environment, and strategies for the future. Buzan’s iMindMap™ was the software chosen for the brainstorming session that focused on Investing in Youth using Innovative Educational Tools. Whilst the software was ideal for sharing and displaying ideas and views in the intellectual think tank, what was truly gratifying for Tony and Chris was the fact that iMindMap™ was essentially contributing to planning for the future of young and developing minds. “I was so proud to see iMindMap™ being used amongst all these great thinkers”, Chris Griffiths explains, “Not only did it work beautifully as a brainstorming tool, but it actually helped the participants see the big picture of what we were there to accomplish. I think because of that, a real difference was made. I was honoured to be a part of it.”

The conclusions of the brainstorming session were plentiful: the elimination of child poverty worldwide is crucial in order to move forward with educational development. As well as this, it became clear that new and innovative learning tools are the foundation for a positive future for the next generation. iMindMap™ was demonstrated in two key ways during the session: it proved to be a very special, unique and effective brainstorming means and it displayed itself as an inventive educational tool that can be used worldwide as an investment to the future of learning.

iMindMap™ is the only Mind Mapping software endorsed by Tony Buzan, the inventor of Mind Mapping, that replicates the organic shape, form and use of colours and images to convey a thought or idea. The Mind Map is described as “the Swiss Army Knife of the brain”, a thinking tool used by hundreds of millions people worldwide and a graphic technique for stimulating creativity and unleashing the true, often untapped potential of the mind. Some of the most celebrated intellectuals of the world got a chance to experience the software at the Petra Conference and a clear deduction can be made: iMindMap™ is a key solution for the tools needed to help the youth of today build a better tomorrow.
