Slow running speeds
iMindMap is running very slow
The speed of the program is unusable – it keeps freezing
To improve the speed of iMindMap you can define the amount of system resources allocated to iMindMap and the JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
This can be set using the Advanced Tab located Tools > Options > Advanced tab. Here you can easily increase or decrease the amount of system resources allocated to iMindMap and the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) in which it runs.
Please Note: The Advanced tab is only available to Windows users.
Lower values will reduce the amount of system resources required, but may impact on the speed of the application. Select lower values if you experience problems with your graphics card, or on systems with limited memory.
Higher values will increase the amount of system resources required and will improve the speed of the application.
The application will need to be restarted for before changes made to this performance setting will become active.
Other tools that will help the speed of the program are:
Expand and Collapse: if you collapse the branches within your map so less of your Mind Map is visible the speed will be improved. See Expand and Collapse for more information.
Focus In and Out: By focusing in on the branch you are working on will also allow you to work on a smaller Mind Map thus increasing the speed of the program. By then focusing back out your newly created branches will be added to your main Mind Map. See Focus In and Out for further information.
