Name: Jane Brotchie
Location: Shropshire, UK
Level: iMindMap Licensed Instructor
I have worked as a freelance author and editorial consultant for more than 15 years. Originally trained as a
dramatherapist, I continue to be interested in creative approaches to learning. I have particular expertise in the
fields of social policy, health and social development work. For over twelve years, I worked as a senior writer
with the distance learning team of the Royal College of Nursing producing modules for undergraduate and postgraduate
students. In my own writing work I have always worked from a Mind Map as linear structures don’t work for me.
I can offer consultancy or hands-on help to individuals or organisations who are:
- developing editing/writing projects
- designing learning programmes – face to face or e-learning
- developing a community/voluntary sector project
I can do this by telephone/Skype and/or in person. When you are developing a complex project I can help you
talk through it and to conceptualise how you might proceed. Mind Mapping is very useful at this stage as a way
of dealing with many ideas that are still taking shape.
A series of weekly hour long conversations over a month or six weeks will generally help you set the course
and identify your priorities. But I am willing to negotiate a way of working that suits you. We can use mind
mapping as a way of sharing our ideas and building on them. I think you will find iMindMap software easy to use –
that’s the beauty of it – but I can help you to apply it and to share the breadth of your vision with your colleagues.
